The evolution of crack-tip strain fields in a thin (plane stress) compact tension sample following an overload (OL) event has been studied using two different experimental techniques. Surface behaviour has been characterised by Digital…
X-ray diffraction is a well-known experimental technique for measuring residual stresses in metallic materials. If XRD is applied to the fracture surface of a broken part it becomes a fractographical technique, that is to say that it is…
Light-weight aggregate and trapped air additions (TAD) affect concrete performance and lead to the production of light-weight concrete (LWC). In this research, fourteen mixes were designed to study the effects of TAD type and content and…
Ultra-high performance concrete (UHPC), a kind of composite material characterized by ultra high strength, high toughness and high durability. It has a wide application prospect in engineering practice. But there are some defects in…
Increased material demand in all sectors is primarily due to exponential growth in population to fulfill human needs and comforts. Recycling of collected aluminium beverage cans and Al 6061 alloy scraps from industries ensures energy…
This work focuses on the synthesize of nanostructured (Fe65Co35)100-x (Pr6O11)x (x = 0, 5) powders using high energy ball milling. The influence of Pr6O11 on structural, morphological and magnetic properties of Fe65Co35 nanoparticles were…
Research in innovative construction materials has focused on utilising supplementary materials in cementitious composites to promote sustainable development and reduce CO2 emissions. Within this context, this study aims to investigate the…
The effects of SiC-Al2O3 particle in the Al alloy on the mechanical and wear characteristics of stir-casted Composites have been reported. The Al7075 is reinforced with 2, 4, 6 and 8 wt. % of (SiC + Al2O3) to manufacture the hybrid…
The purpose of this study was to understand the behavior of martensitic H13 steel in accordance with the microstructural evolution, mechanical properties and wear in repeated tempering cycles. The microstructures were characterized by axio…
In the present paper, fatigue tests were performed on sand-blasted AlSi10Mg samples produced by Direct Metal Laser Sintering (DMLS). The effect of sand-blasting on surface properties was evaluated by roughness and residual stresses…
In the current studies an investigations were made to know the effect of 63 micron sized B4C particles addition on the mechanical and wear behavior of aerospace alloy Al2618 metal composites. Al2618 alloy with different weight percentages…
A present study reveals the influence of nano Al2O3 and ZrO2 reinforcements on the fracture toughness of Hybrid Metal matrix Composites (HMMCs) made of Al6061 alloy. Composites are synthesized by varying weight fraction of alumina and…
To investigate the mixing amount of graphene oxide and water cement ratio on the microstructure and mechanical properties of graphene oxide reinforced cement based composite material, graphene oxide suspension was developed using improved…
Diffusion welding is an advanced joining process that assures the feasibility of joining dissimilar metal alloys without producing metallurgical impurities at the joint interface. Two significant aerospace alloys, AA2219 and Ti-6Al-4V, are…
In this paper, the effect of integration of natural fibers in UD carbon fiber is studied. The integration of natural fibers in carbon fiber is made via intra fiber hybridization. Natural fiber hybrid composite samples were prepared for…
This study investigates the physico-mechanical properties, mineralogical composition, deterioration processes, weathering patterns, and durability of building materials in the Ottoman Fort of Tamentfoust, Algiers, to inform heritage…
Ultrasonic fatigue at an operating frequency of 20 kHz was conducted on thermally treated clay bricks at 500, 750, and 1000 °C with a holding time of 5 h, using a three-point bending setup to assess their fatigue endurance. A Vickers…
