This paper presents both mechanical and structural aspects of micro-cracking of CuNi2Si copper alloy in CNCS grade revealed during the static tensile test in the temperature range between 20ºC and 800ºC. The purpose of this paper is to…
Utilizing molecular dynamics (MD) integration model we have investigated some of the relevant physical processes caused by different loading paths at the atomic level in Cu and Al monocrystal specimen. Interactions among the atoms in the…
In this paper, the effect of welding parameters of rotary friction welding between AA6063 and AISI4130 and AA6063 and Copper are investigated. The major influencing parameters considered are upset pressure, friction time and friction…
This paper discusses the relationship between the stress response and the microstructure under tension-torsion multiaxial proportional and nonproportional loadings. Firstly, this paper discusses the material dependency of additional…
Enrico Mattei, the President of the Italian oil conglomerate, ENI, was about to land in Milan Linate Airport on October 27, 1962 when his airplane crashed on the ground due to a then unexplained accident. The investigation, reopened more…
In this paper, the hot tearing behaviour in Al-(4.8?6)%Cu sand mould castings was preliminary investigated by means of microstructural examination and image analysis. A dog-bone pattern was employed for the realisation of the castings and…
In order to study the growth mechanism of fatigue cracks in ultrafine grained copper, stress controlled fatigue tests of round-bar specimens with a small blind hole as a crack starter were conducted. The hole was drilled on the surface…
In recent years, mechanical property of many SMA has improved in order to introduce these alloys in specific field of industry. Main examples of these alloys are the NiTi, Cu-Zn-Al and Cu-Al-Ni which are used in many fields of engineering…
A Light Utility Helicopter (LUH), in the course of a training flight, leaving the ground during the taxi to take off, went into an uncontrolled rolling to the right; consequently the helicopter gradually laid down on the right side. The…
The technology of energy piles for heat storage involves turning the concrete piles buried beneath the ground into a part of the ground-source heat pump system and burying the heat-transfer tubes in the foundation piles, which are regarded…
Most Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride (CPVC) resins contain 63-69 % chlorine, in particular those used for the extrusion of plumbing tubes, due to this chlorination of basic PVC, CPVC offers a mixture of corrosion resistance and low…
The Equal Channel Angular Pressing is a hardening treatment with which ductile metals can beprocessed to refine their grain and sub-grain structure. This process enhances the mechanical strength of metalsin terms of tensile strength…
The major drawback observed in the ceramic particles reinforced aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) is the reduction of ductility. Incorporating fine metallic particles along with the ceramic reinforcements in the aluminium matrix tends to…
In this study, a multi-parameter analysis, using Taguchi method for design of experiments, has been conducted to investigate the optimum curing conditions for GNPs/E-glass fabric/epoxy laminated nanocomposites. The independent variables in…
This study investigates spall damage and failure in Carbon Fiber-Reinforced Polymer (CFRP) pressure vessels under explosive internal loading using stimulated electric discharge. Analytical modeling, validation with published experimental…
Nano particulates fortified metal lattice composites are finding extensive variety of utilizations in car and sports hardware fabricating businesses. In the present investigation, an endeavor has been made to create copper-zinc-nano ZrO2…
In several industrial applications, plastic, composites and ceramics replace a number of metallic structures such as copper, aluminum and steel. Most recently installed piping water and gas systems in the world are made of thermoplastic…
The extended Bonora damage model was used to investigate joinability of materials in self-piercing riveting process. This updated model formulation accounts for void nucleation and growth process and shear-controlled damage which is…
CPVC is an increasingly popular material for plumbing pipes and other applications that require strong and temperature-resistant material. This resin is created using a chlorination process, giving it Chlorine levels that range from 63 to…
