The effect of using polypropylene fibers on the durability and fire resistance of concrete

Hassan Suiffi, Anas El Maliki, Fatima Majid, Omar Cherkaoui

In order to study the effect of polypropylene fibers on the durability of cementitious composites, several experimental tests have been carried out in the laboratory. The composite was tested with different volume fractions of…

The hydrogen embrittlement sensitivity of duplex stainless steel with different phase fractions evaluated by in-situ mechanical testing

Margo Cauwels, Lisa Claeys, Tom Depover, Kim Verbeken

The influence of the austenite (γ) phase fraction on the hydrogen embrittlement of duplex stainless steel is investigated. Heat treatments are performed to create two duplex stainless steel specimens, containing 50% and 44% of austenite…

Hydrogen Re-Embrittlement of Aerospace grade High Strength Steels

R. Valentini, C. Colombo, M. De Sanctis, G. Lovicu

Hydrogen Re-Embrittlement on anodically coated high strength steels is a relevant risk for aerospace structures due to the possibility of hydrogen uptake during the operative life of the components. AISI 4340 and Maraging 250 unnotched…
