On the effect of stiffness/softness and morphology of interphase phase on the effective elastic properties of three-phase composite material

Fedaoui Kamel, Lazhar Baroura, Karim Arar, Hichem Amrani, Mohamed said Boutaani

In the present study, Composite material consisting of an elastic homogeneous isotropic matrix in which are embedded coated elastic isotropic inclusions, widely used in many applications is investigate by homogenization approach coupled to…

Influence of the interphase between laser-cladded metal layer and steel substrate on fatigue propagation of a short edge crack

Lucie Malikova, Pavel Doubek, Petr Miarka, Stanislav Seitl

Laser cladding is a relatively new technology how to combine properties of various materials. Thus, bi-material interfaces are presented in real structures and can affect the fatigue crack propagation. A cracked bar subjected to pure…

Mechanical and nanomechanical properties of MWCNT/PP nanocomposite

Konstantinos Tserpes, A. Chanteli, Sp. Pantelakis, E.P. Koumoulos, C.A. Charitidis

The mechanical and nanomechanical properties of multi-walled carbon nanotube-reinforced polypropylene (MWCNT/PP) nanocomposite were investigated through tension tests (conducted on 2 wt% and 5 wt% specimens) and nanoindentation tests…

Thermally active interphase inclusion in a smooth contact conditions with transversely isotropic half-spaces

Oleksandr Kryvyi, Yurii Morozov

An exact solution of the stationary thermoelasticity problem about interfacial circular absolutely rigid inclusion, which is in the smooth contact conditions in a piecewise homogeneous transversely homogeneous space, is constructed. The…
