In the maintenance work of cable configurations, which have limitations such as cables in cable-stayed bridges, suspenders in suspension bridges, and hangers in arch bridges, tension on the cables is required. The safety of the cable is…
In this study, a new approach, for identification and characterization of straight cracks in plates-like structures, is presented. The finite element method using a commercial software (Abaqus)is coupled with successful history-based…
In this paper, an approach is proposed that allows for the selecting of the parameters of the shunt circuit that provide multimodal damping of vibrations for the corresponding piezoelectric element location. This technique is based on a…
Modal frequencies are often used in structural model updating based on the finite element model, and metamodel technique is often applied to the corresponding optimization process. In this work, the Kriging model is used as the metamodel.…

Dynamic loading on composite components may induce damages such as cracks, delaminations, etc. and development of an early damage detection technique for delaminations is one of the most important aspects in ensuring the integrity and…
This study investigates the free vibration behavior of 3D-printed PA6 layered plates by considering the effects of stacking sequence, infill ratio, and boundary conditions. Unlike previous works, this research provides a comprehensive…
The usage of mechanical vibrations produced by the hydropower plant (HPP) turbine may be used for seismic sounding of large-scale constructions as the earth-fill dam and its abutment contacts. Such vibrations are monochromatic oscillations…
Three stainless steels – ASTM 304, 316 and 316L - used in hydrogen utilization equipment are under investigation at conditions of tension-compression, rotating-bending and fretting fatigue. Fatigue tests are carried out with hydrogen…
The paper provides an evaluation of the nonlinear dynamic response of a cantilever beam made of composite material subjected to low-velocity impacts. The structure is assumed to respond in a quasi-static manner and modelled by a continuous…
The importance of delamination detection can be understood from aircraft components like Vertical Stabilizer, which is subjected to heavy vibration during the flight movement and it may lead to delamination and finally even flight crash…
Different structural and machine elements are used over the ages. These are subjected to various loads like static and dynamic load, temperature, corrosion etc. Due to the above-mentioned reasons, ageing of the structural elements occur.…
The dynamic experimental and numerical analysis of cracked beams has been studied with the aim of quantifying the influence of depth crack on the dynamic response of steel beams. Artificial Neural Method ANN has been used where a numerical…
Damage detection in composite materials is crucial for ensuring the safety and reliability of engineering structures. Conventional methods often face challenges in accurately identifying damage in plate-like structures, particularly in…
There is a need for efficient techniques that could identify damages in structures such as in bridges, pipelines, buildings, dams, among others. In order to carry out continuous monitoring of structures, this paper proposes a new…
Modality and intermittent search strategy in combination with an Improve Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm (IPSO) to detect damage structure via using vibration analysis basic principle of a decline stiffness matrix a structure is…
The objective of this paper is to investigate the influence of the delamination on the vibration behavior of honeycomb sandwich panel, firstly, numerical characterization to provide the constant properties of the core only are performed…
This paper presents a dynamic and critical buckling analysis of the presence of a crack of steel-polymer concrete composite beams modelled using a refined quasi 3D beam theory. The beam model is a hollow steel box section filled with a…
The strongest point about damage identification based on the dynamic measurements, is the ability perform structural health evaluation globally. Researchers in the last few years payed more attention to damage indicators based on modal…
In this study, a novel quasi-three dimensional hyperbolic high-order shear deformation theory (quasi-3D HHSDT) is developed for free vibration analysis of porous functionally graded plates (FGPs). There are six unknowns in the current…
The work is devoted to a numerical study of the behavior of vertically oriented eccentric (non-coaxial) electroelastic shells, containing a fluid in the gap between them. The solution of the problem is found in the framework of a…
