Steel fiber reinforced concrete is potentially very promising material with unique properties, which currently is widely used in some applications, such as floors and concrete pavements. However, lack of robust and reliable models of fiber…
The influence of fiber orientation on the crack propagation behavior was studied with single edgenotched specimens which were cut from an injection-molded plate of short-fiber reinforced plastics of polyphenylenesulphide (PPS) reinforced…
Hybrid continuous fiber–reinforced composites produced by fused deposition modeling (FDM) offer a promising solution for lightweight load-bearing structures. However, their mechanical performance is strongly governed by internal…
The bonded composite repair has proven to be an effective method for addressing crack damage propagation. Numerous studies have employed experimental and simulation techniques to demonstrate the repair performance through the composites.…
Currently, the reinforcement of ordinary concrete with synthetic fibers poses ecological problems because the manufacturing process of these products is very polluting. Plant fiber composites are a new challenge for environmental…
To study glass/epoxy fiber orientation effects on translaminar fracture toughness under Mixed mode(I/II) load using asymmetric Four Point Bend specimen. Fracture toughness values for different fiber-oriented glass/epoxy laminates under…
Advanced polymer matrix composites are gaining the market in their way due to their exceptional specific stiffness, specific strength, fatigue, and corrosion resistance in the field of Auto-Tech, Aero-Tech, Biotech, etc. However, the lack…
Predicting the failure of carbon fiber composites remains a challenge due to the complex evolution of damage, where the collective behavior of defects like pores and microcracks dictates material strength. The objective of this work is to…
Understanding the failure modes of damaged or cracked structures and repaired by bonding a composite patch is an essential point to improve its resistance to failure and subsequently extend its service life. In the present study, a 3D…
This paper aims to analyze the multi-effects of the glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite patch to repair the inclined cracked 2420-T3 aluminum plate. Three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) was used to study the effect of…
In this paper, gradual demand for curved, stiffened panels composite emerged from carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP); these are structures that are frequently used in aerospace engineering. Up to 50% of the primary structure of the…
In this work the finite element method (FEM) was used to analyze the mechanical behavior of the composite materials subjected to the mechanical loading. This behavior is studied in terms of stress intensity factor variation as a function…
The volume fraction effect of carbon fiber in an epoxy matrix in the vicinity of the notch on the traction and torsion behavior were studied. This volume fraction which increases with the reduction of the thickness is a parameter which…
