Additive manufacturing (AM) technologies are currently contributing to significant progress in the design of lightweight metal components. Al alloys constitute the most studied light metal, particularly the Al-Si ones, due to their high…
In recent times, the use of aluminum alloy-based Hybrid Metal Matrix Composites (HMMCs) is being increased in aerospace and automotive applications. HMMCs compensate for the low desirable properties of each filler used. However, the…
The friction stir welding FSW is a topical technique to date, either for experimental or numerical research topics. Based on the fact that the majority of the heat generated, comes from the contact between the workpiece and the shoulder…
Brazing is a widely employed joining technique for aluminium components due to its cost-effectiveness and compatibility with complex geometries. However, the structural integrity of brazed joints under cyclic loading remains a scarcely…
The work is devoted to the study of the Zr-1Nb alloy in coarse-grained and ultrafine-grained states under laser-induced shock-wave loading. This material is of interest due to the application for the manufacture of shells for fuel elements…
Titanium and Titanium Alloys can be welded by gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, plasma arc and electron beam welding processes. Titanium material is a reactive metal and is sensitive to embrittlement by oxygen, nitrogen, and hydrogen gas…
This work consists of an experimental study on the ageing response and resulting properties of AA7050 plate material. New heat treatments are investigated for achieving a peak-aged temper, as a T6 temper may be said to be, that achieves…
Fatigue cracking of longerons manufactured from Al-alloy AVT-1 for helicopter in-service rotor-blades was considered and crack growth period and equivalent of tensile stress for different blade sections were estimated. Complicated case of…
Fractographic assessment of fatigue fractures may be difficult if they occur in metallic components characterized by low ductility complex microstructures. In these cases reconciliation of known fatigue rupture mechanisms with…
In this investigation, fatigue criterion was established to predict crack-initiation at the tip of a notch in aged hardening aluminum alloy. This criterion was used to predict the residual lifetime in aeronautical structures using concept…
The most important element of mathematical models of thermomechanical processing of metals and alloys is the constitutive model. In recent decades, multilevel physically-oriented constitutive models (CMs) have found widespread application.…
In the current studies an investigations were made to know the effect of 63 micron sized B4C particles addition on the mechanical and wear behavior of aerospace alloy Al2618 metal composites. Al2618 alloy with different weight percentages…
The general regularities of damage healing during the annealing after cold deformation of metal materials are presented in this paper. In categories of damage mechanics the kinetic equations of damage healing during recovery and…
This study examines the changes in microstructure and mechanical properties of friction stir-welded (FSW) dissimilar joints between AA2014-T6 and AA5052-H32 aluminium alloys, with an emphasis on optimizing tool rotation speed for enhanced…
In recent decades, one can observe a great increase in the replacement of traditional materials with polymer composites in high-strength and lightweight applications. High fuel consumption by automobile and aerospace vehicles built from…
