Fatigue life assessment of a non-load carrying fillet joint considering the effects of a cyclic plasticity and weld bead shape

S. Tsutsumi, K. Morita, R. Fincato, H. Momii

Fatigue life depends strongly on irreversible contributions that accumulate during cyclic loading and unloading of structures. However, the correct identification of the loading path in terms of uniaxial or multi-axial stress states…

Numerical modelling of ductile damage mechanics coupled with an unconventional plasticity model

R. Fincato, S. Tsutsumi

Ductility in metals includes the material’s capability to tolerate plastic deformations before partial or total degradation of its mechanical properties. Modelling this parameter is important in structure and component design because it…

On the applicability of multi-surface, two-surface and non-linear kinematic hardening models in multiaxial fatigue

M.A Meggiolaro, J.T.P. Castro, H. Wu

In this work, a comparison between NLK and Mróz-Garud’s multi-surface formulations is presented. A unified common notation is introduced to describe the involved equations, showing that the Mróz-Garud model can be regarded as a particular…
