Tanks and reservoirs are structural systems designed for storing various liquids, gravels, granular or other bulk materials. Special attention is usually given to the potable water storage. Regarding the increasing scarcity of clean water…
Reinforced concrete water storage tanks are civil engineering structures subject to very aggressive atmospheric conditions that expose them to harmful corrosion risk. This dangerous phenomenon caused by the penetration of chloride ions…
Static and dynamic behavior of above-ground steel storage oil tanks resting on end bearing piles or stone columns are studied and analyzed using ADINA (2019) program. The studied soil profile is an upper soft clay soil layer, followed by…
The design of concrete elevated water tanks involves several kinds of uncertainties. Traditionally, the design of these structures is based on a deterministic analysis. Partial safety factors prescribed in design codes are applied to take…
Ground steel storage tanks are widely used in different industries. Regarding the significance of these structures, ensuring the proper performance of such structures in earthquakes needs evaluating their seismic performance. The present…
To evaluate the integrity of a structure consists to prove his ability to perform his mechanical functions for all modes of loading, normal or accidental, and throughout its lifespan. In the context of nuclear safety, for the most…
