Finite-element simulation of residual stresses induced by laser shock peening in TC4 samples structurally similar to a turbine blade

Anastasiia Kostina, Maxim Zhelnin, Sathya Swaroop, Alena Vedernikova, Mariia Bartolomei

This study is devoted to the investigation of residual stresses distribution (RSD) in a TC4 sample treated with laser shock peening. The study placed special emphasis on analyzing the RSD at the part of the samples structurally similar to…

Crack onset assessment near the sharp material inclusion tip by means of modified maximum tangential stress criterion

Ondrej Krepl, Jan Klusák

In the case of particle reinforced composites, where the particles are in a form of sharp material inclusions, singular stress concentration exists on each tip of each inclusion. This is due to the geometric and material discontinuities…

Interference fit effect on holed single plates loaded with tension-tension stresses

D. Croccolo, M. De Agostinis, N. Vincenzi

This paper deals with the influence of interference fit coupling on the fatigue strength of holed plates. The effect was investigated both experimentally and numerically. Axial fatigue tests have been carried out on holed specimens made of…

Multiple linear regression parameters for determining fatigue-based entropy characterisation of magnesium alloy

Mohd 'Akashah Fauthan, Shahrum Abdullah, Mohamad Faizal Abdullah, Intan Fadhlina Mohamed

This paper presents the development of the multiple linear regression approach based on the stress ratio and applied load that was assessed using entropy generation. The energy dissipation is associated with material degradation to…
