In cyclic multiaxial stress/strain condition under nonproportional loading in which principal direction of stress/strain are changed in a cycle, it becomes difficult to analyze stress/strain ranges because of complexity of multiaxial…
Complex stresses, which occur on the mechanical surfaces of transport machinery in service, bring a drastic degradation in fatigue life. However, it is hard to reproduce such complex stress states for evaluating the fatigue life with…
This paper presents a simple method of determining stresses and strains and a severity of loading history under non-proportional loadings with defining the rotation angles of the maximum principal stress and strain in a three dimensional…
The present report presents a fatigue life prediction method for large roller bearings applied in the turret turn table for large loading buoy units. The contact points between wheel and rail in these bearings are subjected to a…
In recent years, very-high-cycle fatigue (VHCF) behavior of metallic materials has become a major point of interest for researchers and industries. The needs of specific industrial fields (aerospace, mechanical and energy industry) for…
In the literature, there are many criteria of multiaxial fatigue. They are based on various assumptions and parameters describing the process of fatigue. Among them, there is a special group of criteria based on the concept of critical…
Multiaxial fatigue is a very important physical phenomenon to take into account in several mechanical components; its study is of utmost importance to avoid unexpected failure of equipment, vehicles or structures. Among several fatigue…
Professor E. Macha devoted his academic life to solving the problems connected with random multiaxial fatigue in components of machines and structures. In his studies he formulated stress, strain and energy criteria related to critical…
This work is motivated by the increasing interest towards the application of the “Projection-by-Projection” (PbP) spectral method in finite element (FE) analysis of components under multiaxial random loadings. To help users and engineers…
Two implicit progressive fatigue damage models that rely on new equivalent-damage and equivalent-stress criteria are presented for the prediction of various failure modes of the composites. The criteria are coupled with lamina-based and…
The present paper aims to discuss a frequency-domain multiaxial fatigue criterion based on the critical plane approach, suitable for fatigue life estimations in the presence of proportional and non-proportional random loading. The…
Fatigue damage and life assessment of multiaxial loadings is still an issue yet to resolve. Many methods have been proposed with promising agreements with the experimental results. However, the performance of such methods is, more than…
