This work extends the Multiaxial Racetrack Filter (MRF) to incorporate mean or maximum stress effects, adopting a filter amplitude that depends on the current stress level along the stress or strain path. In this way, a small stress or…
The evolution of crack-tip strain fields in a thin (plane stress) compact tension sample following an overload (OL) event has been studied using two different experimental techniques. Surface behaviour has been characterised by Digital…
SS 316Ti is widely used in bellows industry and is a good candidate material for high temperature bellows in sodium cooled fast reactor (SFR) systems. Typical operating temperature experienced by SFR systems is around 823K. Design of…
The present investigation deals with the characterization of tensile behavior of various Fiber Reinforced Polymer composites under Thermo-Mechanical loading. Five different types of Uni-Directional (UD) composites of Carbon, Glass…
The hydrogen effect on the fracture toughness and fatigue crack growth behaviour in the martensitic high strength steel is investigated. The secondary ion mass spectrometry method has been employed to analyse the distribution of hydrogen…
The dynamic mechanical property of concrete is very complex and is one of the hot spots in academic research. In this paper, concrete is considered as a three-phase composite composed of cement mortar matrix, coarse aggregate and…
A lot of trans-femoral amputation patients experience skin breakdown due to the pressures and shear stresses in the stump-prosthesis interface. In this study, a finite element model was employed to investigate the stresses at the stump…
In this study, the three-dimensional finite element method is used to analyze an API 5L X70 steel cylindrical pipeline subjected to an internal pressure load by calculating the stress intensity factors and the integral J at the peak of…
The purpose of this study was to explore the changes of mechanical and physical properties of granite under different thermal loading effects. Uniaxial compression experiments studying the rules of the influence of temperature load on…
The blade-disc dovetail interface in an aero-engine compressor is characterized by a non-uniform pressure distribution which can be obtained by an equivalent flat with round edge-on-plate configuration. The contact tractions for a mating…
Marble conventional triaxial loading and unloading failure testing research is carried out to analyze the elastic strain energy and dissipated strain energy evolutionary characteristics of the marble deformation process. The study results…
In this paper, high cycle fatigue failure behavior of Load-carrying Cruciform Welded Joints (LCWJ) is assessed using Strain Energy Density (SED) approach. Different analytical solutions are proposed and applied to illustrate the effects of…
The temporal evolution of the electric activity generated in marble specimens under uniaxial compression is analyzed and quantified in terms of the Pressure Stimulated Voltage (Electric Potential) developed. The evolution of the electric…
The thermal behavior in WAAM process is a significant cause for thermal stress. In this paper, a 3D model of a four-layer wall is built in ABAQUS software in order to investigate the thermal behavior in a carbon steel (ASTM A36) WAAM wall.…
