In the literature, there are many criteria of multiaxial fatigue. They are based on various assumptions and parameters describing the process of fatigue. Among them, there is a special group of criteria based on the concept of critical…
This study concerns the multiaxial static and fatigue strength properties. Short-glass-fibre-reinforced phenolic-resin composites (SGP) molded by injection and compression processes were subjected to tensiontorsion combined static and…
Plastics belong to the most complex and probably least understood engineering materials of today. Combining the best aspects of design, mechanical properties and manufacturing, the structural integrity of plastics is on par with aluminium…
The paper discusses some of the issues, the researchers interested in verifying various multiaxial fatigue limit estimation solutions are facing to. Even recently, newly proposed criteria have been or are tested on dozens of experimental…
In many structures and components cracks, which are exposed to a 3D-mixed-mode-loading, occur due to multiaxial loading situation. A reliable evaluation of those components requires fracture mechanical criteria validated by experimental…
Professor E. Macha devoted his academic life to solving the problems connected with random multiaxial fatigue in components of machines and structures. In his studies he formulated stress, strain and energy criteria related to critical…
Multiaxial fatigue failure criteria are formulated in time and frequency domain. The number of frequency domain criteria is rather small and the most popular one is the equivalent von Mises stress criterion. This criterion was elaborated…
Models proposed to study the multiaxial fatigue damage phenomenon generally lack probabilistic interpretation due to their deterministic form. This implies failure compulsory happening at the plane exhibiting the maximum damage value…
This paper discusses the phase shift effect occurring between two and more load channels of multiaxially loaded specimens. The discussion concludes that there is an extreme shortage of good experimental data that would prove the existence…
The paper describes the key principles and results of preliminary experiments aimed at the development of new technique for the fatigue life prediction under conditions of biaxial cyclic tension. The foundations of the method were…
Crack trajectories under different loading conditions and material microstructural features play animportant role when the conditions of crack initiation and crack growth under fatigue loading have to beevaluated. Unavoidable…
This investigation revisits biaxial fatigue experiments carried out with the nickel-based superalloy termed Waspaloy. Recently, yield criteria extended to multiaxial fatigue and stress based approaches were analysed and their performance…
