This paper investigates the possibility of combining steel fibers with different weight percentages along with their functions in increasing compressive strength, indirect tensile strength and bending strength. In this study, two types of…
Due to its physical complexity, fatigue phenomenon inherently presents a significant number of uncertain parameters to be predicted. In uncertainty quantification (UQ), research has demonstrated that even a small variation in uncertain…
Most mechanical components experience multi-axial cyclic loading conditions during service. Experimental analysis of fatigue cracks under such conditions is not easy and most works tend to focus more on the simpler but less realistic case…
A substantial amount of work was carried out on the use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) in reinforcing concrete structural elements, which demonstrated considerable inelasticity or deformity through monotonous and fatigue loads. Even so…
The need for the fabrication of sustainable aluminium matrix composites (AMCs) is being sought after as practical alternatives to conventional metals and their alloys. This study was undertaken to investigate the effect of sustainable…
Aluminum composites exhibit high resistance to wear and corrosion, possess high strength, offer durability and more such properties. In this study, Al7075, reinforced with nano size SiC - Gr was produced by a stir casting technique and its…
Machine learning has emerged as a powerful tool in various scientific fields for developing data-driven models, reducing the need for extensive physical testing. In this study, the fracture load was first predicted using Theory of Critical…
The present study aims to develop a novel hybrid composite by incorporating clamshell as a secondary reinforcing filler into a bamboo-epoxy composite. The primary objective of this hybridization is to optimize the synergistic benefits of…
The present study develops a knowledge-based machine learning framework for estimating the fatigue life of Al alloy using a combination of data-driven models and an empirical equation. Three different ML models were developed and tested…
A study on the accuracy of the approximation of the displacement field around of crack tip in a sample made from bridge steel (S355) is main objective of contribution. Linear elastic fracture mechanics (LEFM) theory in framework of…
The main goal of the present research is to propose an integrated methodology to address the fatigue performance of topology optimized components, produced by additive manufacturing. The main steps of the component design will be…
Industry needs new materials that present very high structural characteristic, such as high strength, low weight and high damage tolerance. To obtain these characteristics a new class of materials has been introduced: Fibre Metal Laminate…
Adopting novel sandwich structures with FRP (Fibre Reinforced Polymer) skins and a metallic lattice core, both of which have high specific strength and stiffness, is one way to achieve better mechanical performance while remaining…
The hydrophilic nature of bamboo fiber makes them prone to moisture uptake and subsequent property degradation. In this study, bamboo fiber–epoxy composites were hybridized with clamshell-derived particulate fillers to mitigate the adverse…
The paper presents the results of computer simulation of a hybrid removable complete dentures (RCD) of a maxilla and analysis of its stress–strain states (SSSs) under typical operational loads. For improving their strength and stiffness…
The present investigation deals with the characterization of tensile behavior of various Fiber Reinforced Polymer composites under Thermo-Mechanical loading. Five different types of Uni-Directional (UD) composites of Carbon, Glass…
Welding deformation affects the quality of the welded parts. In this paper, by introducing improved back propagation neural network (BPNN), a cold metal transfer (CMT) welding deformation prediction model for aluminum-steel hybrid sheets…
The use of elastomers has become increasingly important in a variety of industries, including automotive, medical, and food packaging. The adaptability of elastomers to different mechanical stresses has made them a popular choice for these…
Welded joints have always been critical elements of industrial mechanical structures, often being the source of failures related to the presence of fatigue loads. Although the academic world has presented advanced methodologies for the…
