Comparative study of conventional and hydromechanical deep drawing processes based on finite element analysis

Mohammed ABBADENI, Ibrahim Zidane, Hamou Zahloul, Zakaria Madaoui

A two-dimensional finite element analysis has been performed to investigate hydromechanical and conventional deep drawing processes. The effects of the fluid structure interaction on the material formability, the strain and the thickness…

Optimization of austenitic and ferritic steels for deep drawing. Part 2: FEM analyses with damage development.

Andrea Casaroli, Edoardo Scabini, Marco Virginio Boniardi, Riccardo Andreotti, Barbara Rivolta

Deep drawing of sheet metal is a crucial industrial process due to its high productivity and low cost per unit produced. Stainless steels are ideal for this process, given their high deformability compared to other steels. Despite its…

Optimization of austenitic and ferritic steels for deep drawing. Part 1: metallurgical and mechanical analyses.

Andrea Casaroli, Edoardo Scabini, Marco Virginio Boniardi, Riccardo Gerosa, Barbara Rivolta

Deep drawing of stainless steels thin sheets is a cold forming process used to produce components with complex geometries at limited costs. Although it seems a simple shaping technique, this technology requires a high level of know-how…
