Piezoelectric effects are exploited in an increasing number of micro- and nano-electro-mechanical systems. In particular, energy harvesting devices convert ambient energy (i.e. mechanical pressure) into electrical energy and their study is…
In this paper, a novel model for stress-induced martensitic transformations in shape-memory alloys is proposed. Accordingly, the constitutive pseudo-elastic behavior of these materials is described. The model accounts for the possible…
Additive manufacturing is extensively used for the production of complex-shaped parts from metals and polymers. Because of the influence of various physical factors, the structure of materials processed under different processing…
The most important element of mathematical models of thermomechanical processing of metals and alloys is the constitutive model. In recent decades, multilevel physically-oriented constitutive models (CMs) have found widespread application.…
Computational homogenization is adopted to assess the homogenized two-dimensional response of periodic composite materials where the typical microstructural dimension is not negligible with respect to the structural sizes. A micropolar…
The aim of this paper is to perform the inverse identification of the material parameters of a nonlinear constitutive model intended for the modeling of concrete which is known as the Karagozian & Case Concrete model. At present, inverse…
Since the end of the last century a lot of research on ductile damaging and fracture process has been carried out. The interest and the attention on the topic are due to several aspects. The margin to reduce the costs of production or…
Numerical simulation by plastic deformation of the shaping processes currently has a large industrial interest. It allows you to shorten the time of design and construction related products and tools to analyze and to optimize processes.…
A 3D mixed beam finite element is presented, modeling the warping of the cross-sections as an independent kinematic field. The beam formulation is derived on the basis of the Hu-Washizu variational principle, expressed as function of four…
Shrinkage effects on short-term behavior of reinforced concrete elements are often neglected both in design code provisions and in numerical simulations. However, it is known that their influence on serviceability performance can be…
In this work, a consistent formulation for the representation of concrete behavior before and after cracking has been implemented into a non-linear model for the analysis of reinforced concrete structures, named 2D-PARC. Several researches…
In this paper, the initial and maximum load was studied using the Finite Element Modeling (FEM) analysis during impact testing (CVN) of pipeline X70 steel. The Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) constitutive model has been used to simulate…
Overall structural integrity and load transfer between concrete and reinforcement enabling composite action relies on the bond between concrete and reinforcement. Bond strength determination of reinforced concrete is an essential task that…
The indentation response of a pseudoelastic nickel-titanium based shape memory alloy (SMA) has been analyzed. Indentation tests have been carried out at room temperature using a spherical diamond tip and indentation loads in the range…
The paper reviews the existing approaches to calculating the destruction of solids. The main attention is paid to algorithms using a unified approach to the calculation of deformation both for nondestructive and for the destroyed states of…
The paper presents results of calculation for modelling of the stressstrain relationship in the case of block loads with mean load value. A model, based on the stable hysteresis loops, was assumed and modified to use for block loading…
