The most important performance for repair materials is adhesion to the substrate. The authors experimentally find out that high modulus fine aggregates in repair material enhance strength of it as well as the strength of the interface…
This study aims at providing a better understanding of the effects of both microstructure and defect on the high cycle fatigue behavior of metallic alloys using finite element simulations of polycrystalline aggregates. It is well known…
This investigation means to predict and modeling the fresh and hardened concrete behavior containing fine aggregates from concrete and brick wastes, for different recycled aggregates substitution rates. To succeed this, the design of…
The aim of this research was to study the effect of incorporating waste rubber aggregates on the physical, mechanical, thermal and durability performance of Self-Compacting Sand Concrete SCSC mixtures. For this purpose, the separately…
Simulating the concrete fracture unlike other elastic and brittle materials quite different due to its quasibrittleness. The present research focussed on assess softening behavior by varying different fractions of aggregates and cement…
The reuse of concrete waste as a secondary aggregate could be an efficient solution for sustainable development and long-term environmental protection. However, the variable quality of waste concrete, especially with various compressive…
There is growing interest in the use of self-consolidating cementitious systems in construction industry. The present research was conducted to enhance the mechanical performance of cement composites by the utilization of micro-sized inert…
There are deficiencies associated with cold mix asphalts, specifically, cold recycled mix asphalts in comparison with hot mix asphalt or hot recycled mix asphalt such as higher moisture susceptibility. Moisture damage of asphalt mixtures…
Concrete, a material of prime importance, is widely used in various works. Among the raw materials composing concrete, aggregates come first. It is widely acknowledged that the consumption of natural aggregates increases with the growth in…
Concretes with water to cement (or binder) ratios of 0.50. 0.40, 0.30 and 0.20 were prepared and long-term mechanical properties were measured. Porous light-weight aggregates (LWA) in dosages of 10 % and 20 % were used for self-curing…
Concrete containing wastes from the demolition of old deteriorated buildings are produced enormously. Concrete is a brittle matrix that is usually reinforced by ductile reinforcement such as steel bars. However, due to the susceptibility…
In this study, in order to evaluate the effects of heavy vacuum slops (H.V.S) as rejuvenator and nano-Zycosil as an anti-stripping agent on used encapsulation method and mechanical performance of asphalt mixture samples, scanning electron…
Properties of asphalt mixture play a vital role in structural integrity and performance of flexible pavements structure. In flexible pavements asphalt concrete surface layer consists of asphalt binder, aggregates and in some cased…
In road construction, bitumen is the binder that gathered the different aggregates of road pavements. Bitumen, as a viscoelastic material, influences considerably the rheological behavior of bitumen concrete. The bitumen used in Algeria…
In this study, a novel quasi-three dimensional hyperbolic high-order shear deformation theory (quasi-3D HHSDT) is developed for free vibration analysis of porous functionally graded plates (FGPs). There are six unknowns in the current…
This study aims to assess the effect of high temperature on the bond strength of Concrete Filled Steel Tubular (CFST) sections incorporating crumb rubber particles as partial replacement of fine aggregates in concrete core. High daily…
In this paper, fly ash, ladle furnace slag and limestone filler were utilized in concrete used as material for additive manufacturing (3D printing). Fly ash and ladle furnace slag were used as a replacement of cement (30% wt.) and…
The development and research of a new formulation of concrete integrating natural resources such as sands (from dunes and/or quarries) as well as waste from steel factories in the form of granulated slag from blast furnaces lead to the…
The experimental study presented in this research was conducted to understand the performance of rubberized concrete columns under axial loads and numerically analyze the conduct of rubberized reinforced concrete (RRC) columns under cyclic…
The scarcity of building materials and the shortage of coarse aggregates which represents the main component of concrete is a problem in the most third world countries, especially in the vast desert areas in Algeria. In desert conditions…
Construction industry consumes a large amount of natural resources and energy and produces high amount of CO2 emissions and waste materials. For more sustainable construction industry, various waste materials are used as natural aggregates…
This paper describes a study of recycled concrete under compressive loads. The study was conducted in two main parts. In the first part, experimental tests were carried out on concrete samples with varying levels of substitution (25%, 50%…
In order to promote the application of steel fiber recycled concrete in projects such as roads and bridges, 25 groups of steel fiber recycled concrete with different mix proportions were designed, taking the replacement rate of recycled…
