Application of Leak-Before-Break concept in 316LN austenitic steel pipes welded using 316L

Gabriel Giannini de Cunto, Arnaldo Homobono Paes de Andrade, Waldemar Alfredo Monteiro

The paper presents a study of the application of Leak-Before- Break (LBB) concept in a relatively small-diameter high energy reactor coolant line, where it is proposed type AISI 316LN to be used as base material welded with type AISI 316L…

Crack growth based life prediction approach under LCF-HCF interaction

Aritra Sarkar, M. Okazaki, A. Nagesha, R. Sandhya

Prediction of cyclic life under low cycle fatigue - high cycle fatigue (LCF-HCF) interaction is of paramount importance in the context of structural integrity of components in the primary side of fast reactors where such damage under…

Limit load based evaluation of plastic η factor for C(T) specimen with a mismatched weld

R Nikhil, S A Krishnan, G Sasikala, A Moitra

Plastic η factor is adopted to account crack tip plasticity while evaluating the fracture toughness of the materials as per ASTM E1820. It is valid only for homogeneous materials. The plastic η factor for compact tension geometry (CT) with…
