In this work, a micromechanical model is used in order to predict the failure surface of cement concrete subject to multi-axial compression. In the adopted model, the concrete material is schematised as a composite with the following…
The article conducts a study on the iron tailings sand concrete's fracture behaviour based on the double-K criterion. Five sets of standard three-point bending beam specimens of concrete with 0%, 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% iron tailings sand…
Reinforced concrete has a weakness for corrosion which can cause the concrete to crack and the concrete structure to fail. To overcome this problem, a self-healing concrete method is needed that can close cracks and inhibit the rate of…
The use of crushed limestone sand in the concrete industry will be quite possible and imperative for environmental reasons. Many researchers around the world have found that concrete based on 50% substitution of river sand by limestone…
The development and research of a new formulation of concrete integrating natural resources such as sands (from dunes and/or quarries) as well as waste from steel factories in the form of granulated slag from blast furnaces lead to the…
The valorization of local by-products in the manufacture of a new range of sand concrete and the improvement of their properties, will lead to seek an arrangement between performance and cost in order to achieve a resistant material. Waste…
The scarcity of building materials and the shortage of coarse aggregates which represents the main component of concrete is a problem in the most third world countries, especially in the vast desert areas in Algeria. In desert conditions…
The aim of this research was to study the effect of incorporating waste rubber aggregates on the physical, mechanical, thermal and durability performance of Self-Compacting Sand Concrete SCSC mixtures. For this purpose, the separately…
In recent decades, researchers have tried to use waste materials as a partial or complete replacement of the gravel ingredients of concrete to reduce environmental impact. One of these materials is electronic waste. The problem of this…
The interest of using combined sand of equal percentage of silica and limestone becomes evident in the formulation of compacted concrete in several previous works around the world, due to the formidable percentage of fines that improves…
This investigation means to predict and modeling the fresh and hardened concrete behavior containing fine aggregates from concrete and brick wastes, for different recycled aggregates substitution rates. To succeed this, the design of…
Urbanisation is consuming huge amounts of sand, being the basic element of concrete and glass, two of the most popular construction materials. Unfortunately, sand mining is causing environmental damage and drastically reducing the amount…
Bendable concrete is also defined as engineered cementitious composites because of its great ductility and tight fracture width limitation. ECC mixtures by adding additional Portland cement, silica sand and fly ash, fiber types…
Static and dynamic behavior of above-ground steel storage oil tanks resting on end bearing piles or stone columns are studied and analyzed using ADINA (2019) program. The studied soil profile is an upper soft clay soil layer, followed by…
In this study, a novel quasi-three dimensional hyperbolic high-order shear deformation theory (quasi-3D HHSDT) is developed for free vibration analysis of porous functionally graded plates (FGPs). There are six unknowns in the current…
