Detection and quantitative estimation of deep defects in multi-layered structures is an essential task in a range of technological applications, such as maintaining the integrity of structures, enhancing the safety of aging aircraft, and…
Learning from history is, by popular account, something at which human beings are not particularly good; George Bernard Shaw having stated that “we learn from history that we learn nothing from history”, while the Spanish philosopher…
The main objective is to model the behavior of 7075 aluminum alloy and built an experimental database to identify the model parameters. The first part of the paper presents an experimental database on 7075 aluminum alloy. Thus, uniaxial…
In this paper, we try to use the finite element method of 2-D axisymmetry to solve problems in eddy current testing problems where the main idea is detecting crack's shape using the NDT-EC. Results are given for a simple eddy current…
The article presents the results of computational and experimental studies of the strength and damageability of a connecting composite part in a metal-composite joint of isogrid and anisogrid structures made of polymer composite material…
In this paper, gradual demand for curved, stiffened panels composite emerged from carbon fiber reinforced plastics (CFRP); these are structures that are frequently used in aerospace engineering. Up to 50% of the primary structure of the…
Carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials used for lightweight aircraft structures are susceptible to low velocity accidental impacts during manufacture and while in service. In this study the CFRP laminates subjected to low…
The importance of delamination detection can be understood from aircraft components like Vertical Stabilizer, which is subjected to heavy vibration during the flight movement and it may lead to delamination and finally even flight crash…
Sandwich panels with polymer composite and light core composites are widely used in aircraft and spacecraft, vessels, trains, submarines, and cars. Due to their high strength to weight ratio, high stability, and high corrosion resistance…
This paper aims to analyze the multi-effects of the glass fiber reinforced polymer (GFRP) composite patch to repair the inclined cracked 2420-T3 aluminum plate. Three-dimensional finite element method (FEM) was used to study the effect of…
In this study, the finite element method is used to analyze the effect of corrosion and the behavior of inclined cracks of an aluminum plate Al 2024 -T3 under thermomechanical loading. The effects of the inclination of the crack and the…
