Experimental characterisation of fatigue crack growth based on the CTOD measured from crack tip displacement fields using DIC

José Manuel Vasco Olmo, F.A. Díaz, F.V. Antunes, M.N. James

The current work presents an experimental study on the use of the crack tip opening displacement (CTOD) to evaluate its ability to characterise fatigue crack growth. A methodology is developed to measure and to analyse the CTOD from…

Influence of laser shock peening on the residual strains and stresses in additively manufactured TC4

Mariia Bartolomei, Aleksei N. Vshivkov, Igor S. Kudryashev, Denis V. Lozhkin, Andrey V. Chumaevskii, Alexander M. Korsunsky

Additively manufactured materials possess significant heterogeneities and anisotropies of stiffness and strength properties between the growth and transverse directions. Residual stresses induced by the fabrication and processing stages…

Influence of the applied layer on the state of stress in a bimetallic perforated plate under two load variants

Mateusz Konieczny, Grzegorz Gasiak, Henryk Achtelik

The paper presents the results of the analysis of the influence of the applied plate layer on the state of stress in the bimetallic perforated plate. The finite element method ANSYS program was used for numerical calculations. The paper…
