Experimental study on shale fracturing assisted by low-temperature freezing

Zhongying Han, Yuanfang Cheng, Xue-Liang Li, Chuan-liang Yan

Under the cold impact of liquid nitrogen, the shale suffers from the significant freezing damage, which provides the possibility of liquid nitrogen fracturing. Moreover, shale fracturing assisted by liquid nitrogen can effectively reduce…

Factors affecting reorientation of hydraulically induced fracture during fracturing with oriented perforations in shale gas reservoirs

Qingchao Li, Liang Zhou, Zhi-Min Li, Zhen-Hua Liu, Yong Fang, Lei Zhao, Ying Han

Hydraulic fracturing with oriented perforations is an effective technology for reservoir stimulation for gas development in shale reservoirs. However, fracture reorientation during fracturing operation can affect the fracture conductivity…

Effect of inter-cluster interference on fracture morphology in multi-cluster staged fracturing for shale reservoir

Qingchao Li, Yuanfang Cheng, Dongxian Zhou, Qiang Li, Ubedullah Ansari

Multi-cluster staged fracturing technology is an effective measure to stimulate the reservoir properties. However, the inter-cluster interference effect is obvious when the cluster spacing is very narrow, which seriously affects the effect…
