The experimental study presented in this research was conducted to understand the performance of rubberized concrete columns under axial loads and numerically analyze the conduct of rubberized reinforced concrete (RRC) columns under cyclic…
Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) is a promising alternative to steel due to its high strength, lightweight properties, corrosion resistance, and low maintenance requirements. This study examines the effect of internal GFRP I-sections…
Reinforced concrete (RC) columns cannot get supreme confinement by using the customary steel stirrups reinforcement because of the requirements for the spacing distances between the stirrups in addition to concrete continuance trouble. For…
Static and dynamic behavior of above-ground steel storage oil tanks resting on end bearing piles or stone columns are studied and analyzed using ADINA (2019) program. The studied soil profile is an upper soft clay soil layer, followed by…
This research present a novel investigation, which focuses on the numerical exploration of steel columns having a double curvature, built with both hollow square and circular cross-sections. A finite element model was initially created…
Concrete-filled steel tubular (CFST) columns are broadly used in many structural systems for their well-known merits. This paper presents a finite element investigation on the structural behaviour of short circular deficient steel tubes…
In this experimental work, strength results obtained on short columns subjected to concentric loads are presented. The specimens used in the tests have made of cold-rolled, thin-walled steel. Twenty short columns of the same cross-section…
The purpose of this study is to explore the numerical behavior of circular RC short columns with different degrees of confinement with CFRP (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%) wraps under concentric and eccentric loading. The numerical analysis…
In order to study the mechanical behavior of reactive powder concrete (RPC) filled square steel tubular columns, this paper designs an eccentric compression experiment for 12 specimens of RPC filled square steel tubular column and studies…
Concrete-filled steel tube (CFST) columns are increasingly used in the construction of high-rise buildings which require high strength and large working space especially at lower stories. As compared to reinforced concrete columns…
The paper describes a customer project, the objective of which was to develop a software program for the calculation of reinforced concrete and steel/concrete composite columns subjected to various loadings and exposed to normal…
Masonry elements are often strengthened in order to improve their structural capacity. Generalized methods to assess the behavior of confined masonry columns are not available in the technical literature. They have been usually derived…
This paper presents a case study on the behavior of precast reinforced columns with non-conventional cross-section. An experimental program was developed to verify the serviceability and ultimate limit states of these columns, loaded with…
Concrete Filled Double Skinned Steel Tubular (CFDST) composite column is preferred over Concrete Filled Steel Tube composite column (CFST) owing to enhanced strength. However, they may possess concrete imperfection due to shrinkage and…
The high ductility of Fiber Reinforced Self-consolidating concrete (called Sismabeton) can be developed not only in tension but also in compression. This aspect is evidenced in the present paper by measuring the mechanical response of…
Columns of mixed soil-sand-cement (CSV), is one of the most unknown used methods for soft soil stabilization that has not been studied before. To this end, in this paper, consolidated drained (CD) triaxial compression tests after have been…
For more than two decades, the construction technique using concrete filled steel tube (CFST) has been widespread throughout the world. Indeed, it has been demonstrated that the use of normal or high strength concrete, confined in a steel…
In the past five years, the implementation of machine learning (ML) techniques has surged in civil engineering applications, particularly for optimizing and predicting solutions to various challenges. More robust prediction models may be…
Glass Fiber Reinforced Polymer (GFRP) I-sections offer a promising alternative to traditional steel reinforcement due to their reduced weight and maintenance requirements. This study aims to optimize the design of GFRP-reinforced composite…
A substantial amount of work was carried out on the use of fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) in reinforcing concrete structural elements, which demonstrated considerable inelasticity or deformity through monotonous and fatigue loads. Even so…
This paper presents an analytical model to construct the interaction diagrams (normal force and moment) for the RC column strengthened using the steel jacket technique. The proposed model is defined using the strain distribution block by…
This study investigates the structural behaviour of elements produced by extrusion-based 3D concrete printing (3DCP). Six full-scale columns with intentional imperfections were tested in three-point bending and subsequently analysed…
The ground external columns of buildings are vulnerable to the extreme actions such as a vehicle collision. This event is a common scenario of buildings' damages. In this study, a nonlinear model of 2-story steel moment-resisting frame (…
Concrete was considered to be very durable material for a long time. However many constructions have shown degradations during their service life. To ensure safety, stability and serviceability of civil engineering structures…
