Experimental and computational study on dynamic analysis of cracked simply supported structures under moving mass

Shakti P. Jena, Cihan O. Bulut, Serpil Kurt

In this study, the influences of crack parameters like crack location from the left end, crack height, number of cracks and the magnitude of mass and the velocity of the transit load on the vertical displacements of the cracked simply…

Correlation coefficients of vibration signals and machine learning algorithm for structural damage assessment in beams under moving load

Toan Pham Bao, Vien Le-Ngoc

This paper presents a novel method of assessing structural damage in beams exposed to moving loads via acceleration signals through experimental studies. In this study, beams are supported on both ends, and their dynamic response to moving…

Rigid block and finite element analysis of settlement-induced failure mechanisms in historic masonry wall panels

Raffaele Gagliardo, Lucrezia Cascini, Francesco Portioli, Raffaele Landolfo, Giovanni Tomaselli, Marialaura Malena, Gianmarco de Felice

The paper is related to the assessment of collapse mechanisms of historic masonry structures suffering settlements induced by ground movements. Two numerical strategies are adopted in order to study the influence of the settled zone on the…
