In recent decades, researchers have tried to use waste materials as a partial or complete replacement of the gravel ingredients of concrete to reduce environmental impact. One of these materials is electronic waste. The problem of this…
The modified compact tension (MCT) test, though not yet recognized as a valid test for determining fracture energy of concrete, is believed to represent a plausible and suitable alternative versus other well established procedures, such as…
In order to promote the application of steel fiber recycled concrete in projects such as roads and bridges, 25 groups of steel fiber recycled concrete with different mix proportions were designed, taking the replacement rate of recycled…
This work constitutes a contribution to the analysis of the behavior of beams reinforced by composite materials. The analysis was made by a study on concrete elements, and in pre-cracked reinforced concrete then reinforced with carbon…
The modified disk shaped compact tension test is a configuration derived from standard compact tension test that is used for measuring fracture mechanical properties of primarily metallic materials. The compact tension configuration is…
The modified compact tension test (MCT) may represent a new test configuration for the performance of static and other kinds of fatigue tests on concrete-like materials. Core drilling can be employed to obtain specimens which are…
The analysis of the bone fracture behaviour is fundamental for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of traumas. In the present paper, an experimental analysis of the fracture behaviour of a bovine femoral cortical bone is carried out, where…
In road construction, bitumen is the binder that gathered the different aggregates of road pavements. Bitumen, as a viscoelastic material, influences considerably the rheological behavior of bitumen concrete. The bitumen used in Algeria…
Properties of asphalt mixture play a vital role in structural integrity and performance of flexible pavements structure. In flexible pavements asphalt concrete surface layer consists of asphalt binder, aggregates and in some cased…
In the case of quasi-brittle material, there is a zone of non-linear behaving material, near the crack tip. A major part of this zone forms a socalled fracture process zone (FPZ), where mechanisms of material toughening take place. The…
This paper predicts the tension strength of Concrete-filled Branch Plate-to-Rectangular Hollow (CBPRH) joint by conducting experimental and theoretical analysis. A total of 46 X-joints with different geometric parameters were investigated…
In this study, a novel quasi-three dimensional hyperbolic high-order shear deformation theory (quasi-3D HHSDT) is developed for free vibration analysis of porous functionally graded plates (FGPs). There are six unknowns in the current…
