In the current European standards for design of timber structures, the issue of timber-to-timber joint type is addressed only to squared timber, which makes the pinpointing of the round timber bolted joints load carrying capacity…
Concrete Filled Double Skinned Steel Tubular (CFDST) composite column is preferred over Concrete Filled Steel Tube composite column (CFST) owing to enhanced strength. However, they may possess concrete imperfection due to shrinkage and…
The purpose of this study is to explore the numerical behavior of circular RC short columns with different degrees of confinement with CFRP (0%, 25%, 50%, and 100%) wraps under concentric and eccentric loading. The numerical analysis…
The present experimental study includes testing thirteen reinforced concrete beams with openings at different locations to investigate the efficiency of strengthening such openings. Different strengthening techniques around the opening…
The flexural behavior of lightweight concrete two-way slabs is investigated in this work, with a focus on the strengthening or repairing method of externally attaching carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) sheets. Five 1000 mm by 1000 mm…
An experimental study with many variables was carried out to investigate the effective width of simply supported composite beams (T&L sec. beams) with & without slab opening. Three full-scale composite slab models with six different…
Structural strengthening is vital to improve the load-carrying capacity partially or severely damaged Reinforced Concrete (RC) elements. Fiber Reinforced Polymers (FRPs) are widely used for strengthening purposes. In this study, use of…
In this work, the structural behavior of masonry buildings under flash flood actions is analyzed by using a novel 3D multilevel fluid/structure model. The proposed numerical framework consists of a macro-scale model based on the…
Near surface mounted technique become the most attractive technique for strengthening RC structures. Several researches had been conducted to study experimentally the flexural behavior of RC members strengthened with NSM technique unlike…
