In-plane anisotropy in deformation micro-mechanism of commercially pure titanium during monotonic tension and cyclic loading

Atasi Ghosh

In the present investigation in-plane anisotropy in tensile and ratcheting behavior of cold rolled and annealed commercially pure titanium plate has been studied. Flat tensile and fatigue test specimen oriented at 0, 45, and 90 degree to…

Analysis of crack growth problems using the object-oriented program bemcracker2D

Gilberto Gomes, Antonio C O Miranda

This paper presents an application of the boundary element method to the analysis of crack growth problems in linear elastic fracture mechanics and the correlation of results with experimental data. The methodology consists of computing…

Deformation and failure of carbon fiber composite specimens with embedded defects during tension-torsion test

Tatyana Viсtorovna Tretyakova, Valery E. Wildemann, Elena M. Strungar, Mikhail P. Tretyakov

A need to timely reveal operational damages and technological defects requires a prompt control of states of structures made from composite materials and their consequent repairs aimed at service life extension. This work is devoted to the…

Experimental and numerical analyses of stiffness and fatigue properties of a spring element for mounts with tunable stiffness made of C85S+QT sheet steel

Volker Landersheim, Cedric Mathieu, Jan Hansmann, William Kaal

Mounting stiffness has an important impact on a system’s structural dynamics and also on the durability of many structures. Mounts with tunable stiffness allow adapting a system’s structural dynamic behavior. Furthermore, they can be used…
