The soil mechanic laboratory results help in accurate soil foundation design and enhancement failure mitigation. The mixing soil design has been used in many geotechnical engineering for soil improvement. In this paper, several types of…
This article presents the results of a comparative experimental study on the influence of date palm fibers to replace polypropylene fibers used as reinforcement in self-compacting concrete (SCC). Indeed, the use of polypropylene fibers…
Shape memory effect (SME) and the relation with corrosion behavior of Cu-Zn-Al Smart Memory Alloys (SMAs) were investigated using different techniques: Scanning Electron Microscopy equipped with an Energy Dispersive System, X-Ray…
The present work aims to model the fracture mechanical behavior of a high-strength low carbon steel, AISI 4130 operating in hydrogen contaminated environment. The study deals with the development of 2D finite element cohesive zone model…
Aeroengine manufacturers have to demonstrate that critical components such as turbine disks, made of DA Inconel 718, meet the certification requirements in term of fatigue crack growth. In order to be more representative of the in service…
The reuse of concrete waste as a secondary aggregate could be an efficient solution for sustainable development and long-term environmental protection. However, the variable quality of waste concrete, especially with various compressive…
This study aims to investigate the delamination effect of a metal sandwich panel using a four-point bending simulation under continual spectrum loading. The most recent core designs of the sandwich panel have a cavity that can increase…
The present study of Ti6Al4V alloy production via Electron Beam Melting (EBM) represents a cutting-edge research topic impacting different strategic engineering applications. This can be attributed to the widespread use of this alloy and…
In a series of applications, steel reinforced concrete structures are subjected to fatigue loads during their service life, what in most cases happens in corrosive environments. Surface treatments have been proved to represent proper…
In this paper, numerical investigation was carried out to quantify the effect of the cold expansion on fatigue crack initiation in Aluminium alloy. The improvement in fatigue initiation life of specimen after the cold expansion process was…
In recent decades, researchers have tried to use waste materials as a partial or complete replacement of the gravel ingredients of concrete to reduce environmental impact. One of these materials is electronic waste. The problem of this…
The aim of this research was to study the effect of incorporating waste rubber aggregates on the physical, mechanical, thermal and durability performance of Self-Compacting Sand Concrete SCSC mixtures. For this purpose, the separately…
The Algerian seismic code assumes that the beam-column joints in monolithic reinforced concrete (RC) buildings are fully rigid. However, many experiments have proven the existence of relative rotations in these connections, and then the…
The effect of corrosion environment aggressiveness on the tensile mechanical properties degradation of AA2024-T3 was investigated. Tensile specimens were pre-corroded for various exposure times to different corrosive solutions, i.e.…
Currently, the reinforcement of ordinary concrete with synthetic fibers poses ecological problems because the manufacturing process of these products is very polluting. Plant fiber composites are a new challenge for environmental…
Nowadays adhesive are widely used in structural applications, in particular for assembly composite materials. In fact, this technique allows to obtain a more uniform load in the joint, to realise a joint with an higher specific strength…
A large number of mechanical components are subjected to fatigue loading beyond 106 cycles. The VHCF behaviour of smooth specimens has been extensively investigated in the recent years, even if more efforts are necessary to reveal the…
The structures in service are subjected to loads whose amplitude varies most often over time. These differences in loading cycle levels will have a direct impact on the propagation of cracks that can lead to accelerations or slowdowns in…
This work aims at studying the creep behaviour of 15-15Ti(Si) austenitic steel, under uniaxial stress (range of 300-560 MPa), and its interaction with liquid lead. The steel was tested to verify its sensitivity to Liquid Metal…
