Recently, engineering blasting is widely applied in projects such as rock mineral mining, construction of underground cavities and field-leveling excavation. Dynamic mechanical performance of rocks has been gradually attached importance…
In this paper the so-called Theory of Critical Distances is reformulated to make it suitable for estimating the strength of notched metals subjected to dynamic loading. The TCD takes as its starting point the assumption that engineering…
A fluidic amplifier is a crucial automatic control component in a liquid jet hammer used to drill hard formations in the oil industry. This study aims to determine the true causes of the fracture failure of baseplates in a fluidic…
The aim of this work is a review of scientific results in the literature, related to the application of thermographic techniques to composite materials. Thermography is the analysis of the surface temperature of a body by infrared rays…
This work is dedicated to the experimental study of the influence of preliminary dynamic loading on the residual strength of the laminated polymer composite under compression. A series of low-velocity transverse drop-weight impact tests in…
When we want to compare the strength of two materials, we compare the table values of quasistatic strength. However results of some experiments show that the strength ratio of the materials can change with increase in rate of loading. Such…
Aiming at the shortages of large reversing impact, high energy consumption and poor balance effect of conventional beam-type pumping unit, the design scheme of beam-type pumping unit with dynamic tracking balance is proposed. The…
The paper presents an experimental analysis of tracking the path of the cracks and crack growth in strengthened or repair reinforced concrete short corbels bonded by carbon fiber fabrics under static and dynamic loads. The reinforced short…
A method for assessing the degradation of mechanical properties of neat polyetheretherketone and its laminated composite reinforced with unidirectional carbon fibers is proposed. It is based on the calculation of the maximum and minimum…
FML (Fibre Metal Laminate) is a hybrid material that presents outstanding structural properties, such as resistance to cyclic and dynamic loads, together with low specific weight. This material consists of metal sheets alternating to…
The quickly identify of fatigue limit of a mechanical component with good approximation is currently a significant practical problem not yet resolved in a satisfactory way. Generally, for a mechanical component, the fatigue strength…
Considerable efforts have been made over the last decades to improve performance of spring steels, which would increase the service time of springs and also allow vehicles weight reduction. There are different possibilities of improving…
In this study, the relationships between processing, structure and properties of self-reinforced ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene (UHMWPE) composites fabricated via thermal pressing are investigated. By systematically varying…
In recent years, the use of natural fiber composites to provide a possible replacement for synthetic fiber composites for practical applications has been the subject of several studies. This study deals with the fabrication and…
Mounting stiffness has an important impact on a system’s structural dynamics and also on the durability of many structures. Mounts with tunable stiffness allow adapting a system’s structural dynamic behavior. Furthermore, they can be used…
A new approach has been developed and implemented to determine the main components of residual stresses that arise as a result of the contact interaction of a spherical indenter and a flat surface of composite plate made. The experimental…
The importance of delamination detection can be understood from aircraft components like Vertical Stabilizer, which is subjected to heavy vibration during the flight movement and it may lead to delamination and finally even flight crash…
Properties of asphalt mixture play a vital role in structural integrity and performance of flexible pavements structure. In flexible pavements asphalt concrete surface layer consists of asphalt binder, aggregates and in some cased…
The aim of this research was to study the effect of incorporating waste rubber aggregates on the physical, mechanical, thermal and durability performance of Self-Compacting Sand Concrete SCSC mixtures. For this purpose, the separately…
The work is devoted to the study of the Zr-1Nb alloy in coarse-grained and ultrafine-grained states under laser-induced shock-wave loading. This material is of interest due to the application for the manufacture of shells for fuel elements…
There are deficiencies associated with cold mix asphalts, specifically, cold recycled mix asphalts in comparison with hot mix asphalt or hot recycled mix asphalt such as higher moisture susceptibility. Moisture damage of asphalt mixtures…
This research addresses environmental concerns by exploring environmentally friendly composite materials as substitutes for non-biodegradable synthetic fibers. The study proposes the development of polymer matrix composites reinforced with…
Sandwich panels with polymer composite and light core composites are widely used in aircraft and spacecraft, vessels, trains, submarines, and cars. Due to their high strength to weight ratio, high stability, and high corrosion resistance…
