On local strength of a spherical vessel with pits distributed along the equator

Daria Okulova, Liana Almazova, Olga Sedova, Yulia Pronina

The effect of multiple shallow corrosion pits on the strength of a spherical vessel subjected to internal pressure is studied. The pits are considered both randomly and evenly distributed along the equator on the outer surface of the…

Evaluation of rheological performance of a local modified bitumen by Styrene Butadiene Styrene polymer used in wearing course

Kebaili Kebaili, Mohammed Boucherba, Mohamed Djouhri, Mustapha Kebaili

In road construction, bitumen is the binder that gathered the different aggregates of road pavements. Bitumen, as a viscoelastic material, influences considerably the rheological behavior of bitumen concrete. The bitumen used in Algeria…

Methodology to minimize the dynamic response of tall buildings under wind load controlled through semi-active magneto-rheological dampers

Francisco da Silva Brandão, Alex Koch de Almeida, Letícia Fleck Fadel Miguel

This paper proposes a methodology to evaluate and optimize the dynamic response of tall buildings under wind loading, controlled through semi-active Magneto-Rheological dampers (MR dampers). For this, a tall building, modeled as a 2D…
