Nowadays most industrial realities undergo a strong push to improve cost-effectiveness, productivity and quality of manufactured products. In particular we focussed our attention in the area of design of plastic structural components…
The main goal of the present research is to propose an integrated methodology to address the fatigue performance of topology optimized components, produced by additive manufacturing. The main steps of the component design will be…
In recent years, 3D printing technology has assumed an important role in advanced construction processes across various engineering fields. Among these, the application to the architectural restoration of historic structures is…
Transmission towers are tall structures used to support overhead power lines. They play an important role in the electrical grids. There are several types of transmission towers in which lattice towers are the most common type. Designing…
Modal frequencies are often used in structural model updating based on the finite element model, and metamodel technique is often applied to the corresponding optimization process. In this work, the Kriging model is used as the metamodel.…
In this study, mix proportion parameters of high strength concrete (HSC) were analyzed by using the Taguchi’s experiment design methodology for optimal design. For that purpose, mixtures are designed in a L27 orthogonal array with six…
Deep drawing of sheet metal is a crucial industrial process due to its high productivity and low cost per unit produced. Stainless steels are ideal for this process, given their high deformability compared to other steels. Despite its…
In this experimental works, the effect of GMA welding process parameters, such as arc voltage, wire feed speed, and gas flow rate on the mechanical quality of IS 2062 structural steel of grade A has been studied. Process parameters play an…
As it is imperative to control the materials development processes well, in parallel, it will be necessary to constantly adapt very efficient assembly methods. Friction stir welding makes it much easier for us to fusion the aluminum alloys…
In this study the finite element method is used to analyze the performances of bonded composite wrap repair of cracked steel pipelines. Parametric analysis was performed in order to highlight the effects of the geometrical properties on…
Friction stir welding (FSW) is an extremely complex process because it depends on the intrinsic and extrinsic factors of the material under consideration. The purpose of the present work is to formulate a set of recommendations concerning…
