To describe the effect of crack-tip constraint on the stress field for finite cracked bodies, the following most widely used constraint parameters can be employed in elastic-plastic fracture mechanics, namely, local triaxiality parameter…
The subject for studies is an aluminium cylindrical hollow specimen with external axial and part circumferential semi-elliptical surface crack undergoing fatigue loads. Both the optical microscope measurements and the crack opening…
The aim of this study is to analyze the effect of different geometries and sections on the mechanical properties of epoxy specimens. Five tensile tests were carried out on three types of series. The experimental results obtained were…
The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of thickness of energy director (EDs) and ultrasonic welding (USW) process parameters on structure formation and interlaminar shear strength (LSS) values of lap-joints of composite…
The stress-strain state analysis of the gas turbine engine compressor disk was carried out taking into account damage accumulation under various loading conditions in the temperature range. Characterization of the constraint effects was…
This work proposes a methodology to optimize a reinforced concrete structure. For this, the Whale Optimization Algorithm (WOA) algorithm was used, an algorithm from the group of metaheuristic algorithms, which presents an easy…
The modified disk shaped compact tension test is a configuration derived from standard compact tension test that is used for measuring fracture mechanical properties of primarily metallic materials. The compact tension configuration is…
In this paper, a machine learning-based framework is developed to quickly evaluate the structural safety of trusses. Three numerical examples of a 10-bar truss, a 25-bar truss, and a 47-bar truss are used to illustrate the proposed…
