Three-dimensional elastic-plastic problems for a power-law hardening material are solved using the finite element method. Distributions of the J-integral and constraint parameter A along the crack front for varying specimen thickness and…
To describe the effect of crack-tip constraint on the stress field for finite cracked bodies, the following most widely used constraint parameters can be employed in elastic-plastic fracture mechanics, namely, local triaxiality parameter…
Fatigue surface crack growth and the in-plane and out-of-plane constraint effects are studied through experiments and computations for aluminium alloy D16T. Subjects for studies are cruciform specimens under different biaxial loading and…
Non-singular terms in the series expansion of the elastic crack-tip stress fields, commonly referred to as the T-stress. The T-stress is as an additional stress field characterizing parameter to stress intensity factor (K) in the analysis…
The third generation Al-Li alloy AA2050-T84 is widely used in aircraft applications due to its lightweight and significant mechanical properties. The anisotropic variations of tensile and compression properties of this alloy at various…
The subject for studies is an aluminium cylindrical hollow specimen with external axial and part circumferential semi-elliptical surface crack undergoing fatigue loads. Both the optical microscope measurements and the crack opening…
