Investigation on Microstructure, Hardness, Wear behavior and Fracture Surface Analysis of Strontium (Sr) and Calcium (Ca) Content A357 Modified Alloy by Statistical Technique

K. Ganesh, K. Hemachandra Reddy, S. Sudhakar Babu, R Suresh

The aluminum alloy are extensively used in several industrial applications. Stir casting is one of the most frequently accepted methods. In the present investigation, how the microstructure, mechanical and wear mechanics of A357 alloy were…

Predicting fatigue limits of defective A356-T6 and A357-T6 cast aluminum alloys using a hybrid empirical–machine learning approach

Nesrine Majed, Anouar Nasr, Wided Bel Haj Sghaier, Marwa Youssef

The present study develops a knowledge-based machine learning framework for estimating the fatigue life of Al alloy using a combination of data-driven models and an empirical equation. Three different ML models were developed and tested…

3D Analyses of crack propagation in torsion

D. Shiozawa, Serrano Munoz, S. Dancette, C. Verdu, J. Lachambre, J.-Y. Buffiere

The initiation and propagation of fatigue cracks during cyclic torsion loading was studied in a cast Al alloy (A357) with a relatively large (~500 ?m) grain size. 2D observations, revealed that multi site crack initiation occur on the…
